If you have viewed this site already (or even confessed on it) then you will notice it's a full Flash website, and I don't really do Flash (yet), well this is because I had no involvement with the Flash part of this site. All the Flash was done by a colleague at Codegent.

But obviously the details captured by the visitors had to be stored somewhere and somehow, this is something Flash can't do (at the time of writing this anyway). This is where I came in.

I created the CMS for this site, and all the capturing from the Flash. It was pretty simple, the Flash sent the form field details to a cfm page, I used these values sent from the Flash and stored them in the database.

Once all the details where stored, the staff at Evian had a CMS to view and approve all confessions made. Once the Evian staff approved/unapproved a confession the database was updated and an xml file was also updated with the same details.

As Flash cannot interact directly with a database (once again, at the time of writing this), it would have to use xml instead. So the Flash would then look at the xml tree and use this to pull out all the winners and sinners on the site, simple!

As I am learning Flash at the moment, I will be able to do all of this one day, this will make things alot easier.

Needless to say, Evian where very happy with the site and it already has nearly 20,000 confessions stored.
