Late 2004 the Energy Saving Trust (EST) sealed a partnership with MSN to be part of their My Money section.

This didn't involve much work really from our end but was a very big thing for the EST to get coverage within MSN.

It worked by MSN supplying us with what they call a "Channalizer", this is essentially a template on their servers which is constantly kept up-to-date. This involved me doing a HTTP request to the MSN server at certain intervals (or on every request if EST wish) to pull the template down. Then I simply split the template up into portions (header and footer) and wrapped it around the My Home website.

Obviously this was the best way as we certainly didn't want to have two copies of the My Home site (making maintenance a nightmare).

This was only a small project for me, but seeing it was involved with MSN I felt it would be a good addition to my portfolio.
